It was the only show I’ve ever been to alone and was one of the greatest show experiences I have ever had. I still have never seen a more diverse audience at a show.  Sparklehorse has been at the top of my play list for many many years. The sad and beautiful lyrics of Mark Linkous have been with me through a lot of sad times in my own life and I have always felt a strong connection with his music. Yesterday I heard the news that Mark Linkous committed suicide. Besides talking to him briefly and getting an autograph at the show, I only knew him from his music. I strangely feel like I have lost an old friend. Here are some clips of the Denver show and a song that is now always going to make me incredibly sad.

This is a short video of stills taken over the two week process of building my studio. Big thanks to my brother Derek who did 90% of the work…I mostly just handed him tools. It looks great though and I’m damn happy! The song is empty coffins from my forthcoming album elephant graveyard.

The ghost guy I just finished recently and the cube guy was done in February and I was lazy about getting it up. Anywho, they are both available on the store page if anyone is interested.

My next album is finished and will hopefully knock your socks off. It’s called Elephant Graveyard and I’m really proud of this one. I still need to do some tweaking on the mixes, get it mastered, do artwork and everything else I hate doing to get an album out…actually, the artwork is pretty fun. I will also have a free downloadable remix ep featuring lots of rap songs that I grew up on plus some remixes I’ve done recently for Anticon dudes and bits and pieces of Elephant Graveyard peppered in. So, when is all this going to be available you may ask? I can’t say, but I’m really shooting for sometime this year. Keep your eyes and ears out.

I also have a show coming up at the Aggie in Fort Collins opening for my friends Stell Luce on September 9th. Come on out if you are in the area.
